ISS Switzerland receives requests from Switzerland and abroad concerning the protection of children and adults in cross-border situations.
For instance, a request for social assessment of a child or an adult, an intervention in a child abduction case, a family tracing request, a search for documents or assistance with family reunification procedures or a humanitarian visa.
ISS Switzerland assesses the relevance and feasibility of the intervention and then cooperates with its partners in Switzerland (KESB, child and adult protection services, central cantonal and federal authorities for the Hague Convention, guardians, etc.) and abroad (members of the ISS network and/or directly with the families concerned).
Interventions consist of socio-legal support based on the transnational and interdisciplinary expertise of ISS Switzerland through telephone calls, emails and consultations in our offices in Geneva and Zurich. This may also lead to mediation or to a specific accompaniment of a legal or therapeutic nature.
The costs of ISS Switzerland's services are fixed for private individuals and mandated services in the various cantons.
